Event photographer · Gresham, Oregon

Events don't wait for you.

I photograph the parts of an event that are over before anyone thinks to look — the second the couple sees each other, the room going quiet before a toast, the last song when the floor is full. Based in Gresham, working across the Portland metro and the Gorge.

02 — What I shoot

Coverage, by the kind of day it is.

Every event has a shape: a slow build, a peak you can't predict, and a wind-down nobody photographs. I plan for all three. Rates depend on hours, travel, and how many finished images you need — tell me the date and I'll send a quote.

  • Weddings & elopements

Getting ready through the last dance, or a two-hour elopement at a courthouse or trailhead. I stay out of the way during the ceremony and get close during the parts that are actually loud. Includes a private online gallery and print rights.

    Half day · Full day · Multi-day

  • Corporate & conferences

Keynotes, panels, award moments, and the hallway conversations that are the real reason people came. Delivered on a deadline that works for your comms team — same-day selects available for press and social.

    Keynotes · Panels · Awards · Headshots

  • Concerts & live music

Low light, fast movement, and a lighting designer who did not consult me. Shot from the pit, the soundboard, or the back of the room, depending on what the venue allows. Promoters get a fast turnaround for press.

Festivals · Club shows · Venue residencies

  • Community & nonprofit

Fundraisers, school events, cultural festivals, grand openings. I know the difference between a photo that documents an event and a photo that gets a grant renewed — you'll get both.

    Fundraisers · Festivals · Openings

  • Portraits & headshots

Short sessions for people who need one good photograph of themselves and would rather not spend an afternoon on it. Natural light outdoors, or a simple setup at your office.

Individual · Team · On location

Not sure which one you need? Send the date, the venue, and roughly how long you want me there. That's enough for a real answer.

03 — How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

You tell me the shape of the day

Date, venue, rough timeline, and the two or three moments you'd be devastated to miss. A short call or a long email — whichever you prefer.

  2. 02

I send a quote and hold the date

A flat rate for the hours you need, travel included within the metro. A signed agreement and a deposit lock the date in.

  3. 03

We plan the parts worth planning

Where the light will be, when the room actually fills, whether the ceremony is backlit at 4pm. Ten minutes of planning saves the whole day.

  4. 04

    You get the photographs

A private online gallery, edited and colour-corrected, ready to download and share. Sneak peeks within [X] days, the full set within [X] weeks.

04 — About

Chelsea Macy

I'm an event photographer based in Gresham, Oregon, working across the Portland metro and out into the Columbia Gorge. Events are what I shoot because events are the one kind of photography where nothing can be redone — the light, the crowd, and the moment all move at once, and you either read it or you miss it.

My approach is quiet. I'd rather be a person in the room than a production standing in the middle of it. That usually means I know the timeline better than most of the guests, I've already found where the good light is, and you'll forget I'm there until you see the photographs.

[Add a paragraph here about how you got into photography, where you trained or what you shot before, and anything personal you want people to know — this is the section clients read before they email you.]

05 — Contact

Tell me about your event.

The more you can tell me up front — date, venue, rough hours, what matters most — the faster I can give you a real answer instead of a form letter.
